Man, isn’t my former Senator cool? He’s so hip he’s blogging!
I actually met this man when I was 14 on Manchester Road in western Saint Louis County…. The exact location is somehwhere in this rendering. Good old Ballwin Days. Sigh.

Blogging from the Middle East
Sen. Talent meeting with General Abizaid, Commander, United States Central Command in the forward headquarters at Camp As Sayliyah, Qatar.
I appreciate the time you have taken to share your views with me in the past, and I welcome the opportunity to provide you with timely updates on my actions. I am currently traveling in Iraq and Israel visiting with officials and troops. Each day, I am posting my personal impressions on a Web blog. Posting comments online is way for me to regularly report back to Missourians about my visit and it’s a way for you to follow along with me as I travel in the region.
I serve on the Armed Services Committee and I’ve wanted to go to Iraq for a long time. I feel this is the perfect time to go because of the run up to Iraq’s elections in January. I also want to see firsthand the military training of the Iraqis and to talk to the people on the ground, including Missouri troops, about how the mission is working. As a member of the Senate Agriculture Committee, I’m also talking to Iraqi officials about agricultural trade. In Israel, I want to assess the impact of Yasser Arafat’s death as we work towards peace in the Mid East.
