Denver turned out to be a lot of fun. I had my moments of panic and my moments of pride. All in all, I survived my first annual meeting.
Highlight #1: Meeting Jack Dangermond
Highlight #2: Having my colleague Angie show him “Minneapolis Memory”
Highlight #3: Showcasing one of my renderings to thousands of geographers.
Highlight #4: The GWU Geography Bowl Team winning the geography bowl…..and going out and celebrating with them
Highlight #5: Mentioning the Inaugural Map to a scholar and getting props.
Highlight #6: Finishing up a 3 million dollar National Science Foundation grant and submitting it on time.
Lowlight #1: Not seeing one pine tree
Lowlight #2: Not going outside of Denver
Lowlight #3: Not taking a week off for vacation
The trip definitely made me want to have a presentation for next year…
…that spells inspired… I have a few ideas swarming in my head :-)
