This is a picture of me handing out books at the beginning of TV Turnoff Week in DuPont Circle. Regardless, I hope Adbusters decides to update the content on the page! Why? On friday night we put out this call to the listserv:

Dear All,

What:
TV-TURNOFF-BAR CRAWL Friday the 29th!!

Who:
The DC Jammers and all others inclined toward drinking and shenanigans

When:
Friday, April 29th, 8:30pm.
We will start meeting at 8:15, we will wait until about 8:30ish.

Where:
Foggy Bottom Metro, in the little park area by the benches and GW seal (to the
right and back through the gate as you are exiting the metro escalators). If
you need further directions, ask and ye shall recieve :)

Why:
You know.

How:
The more the merrier, so bring your friends! We will go from bar to bar in the
Georgetown area turning off TVs with our nifty TV-b-Gone remotes. We have 3 as
of now, so if any of you out there have one, please bring it along or let us
know if we can borrow it if you dont plan to attend. Also, we will share so
that everyone will have a chance to join in the fun.

If you’d like, come dressed like a true Georgetown bar-hopper (upturned collars,
pastel-colored polo sweaters draped over your shoulders, the works) for kicks
and for ease of entry.

We ended up getting about 12 people with 3 TV-B-Gones to come out to jam Georgetown. One person filmed us, so I expect a short video about the evening’s activities to be on-line shortly. Starting a GWU, we slowly made our way down Pennsylvania Ave., and by the end of the night we had successfully turned off 47 televisions. The entire night went absolutely great! I got to meet some of the folks on the list who I haven’t met yet. No one got caught and in some locations we ended up turning the TVs off multiple times, even some very large TVs. I can’t wait to do it again! I was going to obtain an aerial photograph of of Georgetown and add little TVs at the spots where we turned the TVs off, but I don’t have the exact locations of all the places we hit up because broke up into small groups. If I get the locations, I’ll map our jam :-)
