A new client of mine has requested that I make her sister a map of their home in Park City, Utah. Unlike Salt Lake City, Park City’s aerial photography dates back to around 1992 and is in black & white. I chose to not use black & white for the states I have yet to finish (like Iowa), but fortuitously the client doesn’t mind the black & white color scheme and seemed open to the idea of allowing me to use color(s) for the map’s preparation. The result is a hexagon around the house in black & white with a red outline and a “background” (the unimportant photography) in a deep green. I am quite pleased with the result and for the first time have made 7 different draft renderings for the client to view.
