artDC, a new international art fair running April 26-30, 2007 at the Washington Convention Center, is hosting a New Media Art competition for artists from Washington, DC, Maryland and Virginia. This event is being organized by Independent Curator Rody Douzoglou with the support of artDC and Flashpoint, a project of Cultural Development Corporation, DC. The selected works of video and internet art will be presented in a “Video Lounge†at the art fair. Sound artworks will be offered as podcasts.

Mission
artDC 2007 offers an international platform for exposure of local artists with works in video, sound and internet art. This competition presents a unique opportunity to further artistic interactions, facilitate the discovery of new talent, reinforce interest in emerging contemporary artists using new media, as well as encourage the exploration of the DC area’s cultural resources.Eligibility
This open call is reserved for artists in DC, MD or VA who have no gallery representation. Eligible works must be recently completed and without previous public exposure. Works to be considered must run 5 minutes or less (no exceptions) and be suitable for all audiences. Terms and Deadline Applicants must submit application with the work of art by 4 PM on January 31, 2007. Video works should be single channel in DVD format; sound works must be recorded as a CD. For internet art, no viruses please.Submissions should be directed to:
