Yesterday I purchased a MacBook and I am now in the process of retiring my iMac (aptly called “the most beautiful computer ever created”). This involves moving a lot (and I do mean a lot) of files & emails, and basically, deciding what should be deleted and what should be ported over. I expect the process to take some time! With the firewire ports on my iMac not working correctly, I am really happy that I was able to figure out how to connect them via Ethernet to transfer files. But there are so many files, errr, memories, that I have to purge.
I have not tried to make a new map on my new computer yet, but I expect to do so once I get everything squared away. Moreover, I had reduced the amount of new maps I’d been making because I didn’t have the ability to backup (aka burn CDs) the maps I had made in the later half of 2006. I have about 50 to go and once I’ve caught up with the past I expect to start churning them out again a frenzied pace. Of note is at this time last year I was making the most maps and it was because I had two computers to process all the data.
