Well not just some random interchange, it’s the confluence of Highway 75 and Interstate 480 – aka the Gerald Ford Freeway. There are two main comments about this map. One is about design and the other is about the subject. To start, the design is slightly flawed! Well it looks perfect from a 1:15 scale, but it’s one pixel off! When I was tessellating the photograph, I accidentally left one extra pixel on the seams of the tile. So when you zoom into the map, you see this small white line on the seams. It looks cool, but it’s not perfectly seamless like the rest. As for the subject, I didn’t know it when I was making the tile, but Gerald Ford has been in the hospital recently and the interstate that makes up half of this map is named after him.
